Dan, this looks like a very useful tool. Any idea whe, you will have this ready - you could post screen shots?
Thanks.

Hi Scott,
I don't have an estimated time frame for the availability of Account Biller, but I plan to start working on it again soon. My focus of late has been on MyCalendar and D-Man, plus other projects. MyCalendar grew out of the calendar side of Account Billler and brought numerous improvements, so that aspect of Account Biller will be overhauled first thing.
I have a few logistical things to sort out, such as how to tie the calendar and transactions areas together, before it will be ready to have a demo posted. However, screenshots are a very good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll post an update to this thread when they are online.
Cheers,
Dan |

Dan,
Thank you for posting the screenshots. Well done interface! Please notify me when you have this ready. Depending on what you license this for ($$), I'm sure I can justify purchasing a license.

Hi Scott,
You're welcome. Glad you like the looks of it. Pricing is very much tentative at this point, but I anticipate something around $350. I will have a better feel for that once the project is a bit further along.
Cheers,

After a very lengthy time away from Account Biller, I have finally resumed work on it. I hope to get a demo posted before too long... At this point, I anticipate a much lower price than previously mentioned, probably closer to $150; maybe even a $50 discount for early bird purchasers (with free upgrades, of course).
More information will be posted here and in the Announcements forum as it becomes available.
Cheers,

ditto on the above comments - the screenshots look great! i'm interested in how to be an early bird purchaser. since it's far enough along that you have those screenshots, any chance you can give a time frame? don't worry, i won't hold ya to the minute, just wondering whether to look for another solution for in the meantime or if it'll be soon enough to wait... |

Hi,
Thanks for the interest.

This is still tentative, but I think what I'll do is release it at the reduced price as soon as I'm comfortable with the feature set of the first version. That way, anyone who wants to get it on it early can do so and has the added incentive of a lower price to offset the new program "learning" curve.

Those screenshots are actually two years old, which tells you how long it's been since I've worked on Account Biller... My plan is to focus my time on Account Biller this week and hopefully have the demo up and running by next weekend. (The demo version is actually fully functioning, just a few loose ends that I never decided what to do with.) I'll probably pare back some of the areas that are still in limbo so as to make said loose ends less confusing, but that's still a question mark.
By the way, an informational note to people considering Account Biller: At present, it is a billing/invoicing program, not a payment processor. Eventually, payment processing options may be added in, but that is not on the drawing board at this time.
If you have any other questions, fire away!
Cheers,
Dan |

sounds good. do you have a list of specific features that will be in the first release? and what features will/might be added in future versions? |

No, not really. What I can do, however, is list the basics of what are currently in place:
- Contacts administration area much like that of MyCalendar and D-Man
- Set a recurring Billing Date for a Contact
- Add/Edit/Delete/List Payments or Invoices to existing Contacts
- Add/Edit/Delete/List "Accounts" to existing contacts, i.e. recurring billing
- Send email to any Contact notifying them of their Transaction History or Payment Due status
- Log all sent emails for following up if neccessary; can re-send any logged email
- View reports for upcoming due dates
- View all Contacts with a positive balance (credit)
- View all Contacts with a negative balance (owing)
- View overall statistics such as total $$$ of payments, total $$$ of invoices/accounts, current balance, number of contacts, number of payments, number of invoices, number of accounts, average amount per payment, average amount per invoice, average duration per open account, average # of payments per contact, average # of invoices per contact, average # of accounts per contact, and average payment turnaround
Some things not yet done include a database backup option (important), way of importing data, flagging un-paid invoices for inclusion in the "upcoming" reports area, and help files/documentation. The major lingering area of concern is how to tie the Contacts area (billing dates) to the Calendar area, which is used as an additional visual means of seeing what is coming up. My goal is to make that area streamlined with minimal calendar customization, as I would like to be able to more or less drop the latest MyCalendar into place and keep the Account Biller system up to date. That has proven rather challenging, though.
Cheers,

Just a quick note to let people know I'm not quite as far along as I had hoped. Having not worked on the program in 2 years, there's a fair amount of code to get updated to my current conventions, so I haven't gotten to any of the previously mentioned logistical issues. I'm still hoping to have a demo of some sort posted this week, although I don't know yet what all will be in place by that point.
Cheers,

Hi Carolyn,
Yes, it has been a while. My work on Account Biller has been fairly sporadic, and nothing much has been accomplished since the last update. I really do need to get it rolling, though, so I appreciate the occasional prodding.
Cheers,

Thanks for the interest, but as you have probably guessed, I don't have any news to report since the last [lack of a] update.
Cheers,
