Much work has gone into making it as smooth a process as possible, with security being a top priority. With the rapid increase in Internet fraud, it became obvious that it is essential to protect all parties involved without making the purchasing process inconvenient for the honest folk among us.

The new system will provide immediate access to the downloads for transactions deemed low risk (based on various criteria which is best not to share ). Others will be put into queue for closer inspection and manual processing. You will receive notification during the checkout process which group your purchase falls under. If you are to receive instant access, you will be presented with two options on the final checkout screen:

1) Create a User account for the downloads area. This is the option for first-time AbleDesign customers. The name/username/password/email fields will be pre-filled in for you, but you can change them to something of your own choosing if you prefer. Submitting the account creation form will set up your download authorizations.

2) Click on a link with your Transaction ID to add your new download authorizations to an existing account, such as if you have previously purchased an AbleDesign program.

I'm sure there will be a kink or two to iron out, so please let me know if you encounter any difficulties with the new store, either in the general discussion forum, by email, or through the Contact form.

Also, the new store contains a section for recommended programming manuals. I get asked from time to time what good PHP/MySQL books are available, so I put that together as a handy resource. The books are available through Amazon.com, and the prices and product info are updated every morning to be current.

Additionally, I'm looking into possibly setting up an affiliate program in conjunction with the new store. A few of you have asked in the past if I would be interested in doing such, but it didn't seem feasible at the time. I still need to find out more about the various tax requirements for running an affiliate program and make sure I can run the thing accurately and efficiently, but hopefully I'll be able to move ahead and provide you all with some extra incentive for providing much appreciated word of mouth.

As of 11/16, the AbleDesign Affiliate Program is now alive and kicking! Details at:

There are still a few minor details to sort out, more banners to add, etc., but everything seems to be functioning well. Of course, please let me know if you encounter any problems along the way.

Current settings are 7.50% commission on all sales originating from your afilliate links and a $30 payment threshold.
